SPF is lead by Vicki Madden, one of Australia’s most accomplished television creatives with over 25 years experience as a writer, script producer and showrunner. Her wide ranging career has spanned internationally steering high-level television drama not only in Australia but also the UK and Ireland including The Bill, Lynda LaPlante’s Trial and Retribution, and celebrated Irish drama The Clinic. In Australia her credits include much loved and successful series such as Water Rats, Blood Brothers and Halifax FP.
From an early career honing her craft on seminal long-running dramas including The Flying Doctors and G.P., Vick has emerged as a driving force of high-end television in Australia as both Showrunner and Producer.
Her acclaimed supernatural drama series, The Kettering Incident, premiered on Foxtel in 2016 and went on to be the highest rating Australian cable TV drama. It was also lauded by critics and received the Grand Jury prize as Series mania, Paris.
Under the SweetPotatoFilms banner Vicki has gathered a suite of creative collaborators to forge a new brand of screen storytelling that is bold, ambitious and always beyond the ordinary. SPF is currently in development of a slate of new TV, digital and feature productions with companies and creatives in the UK, US and in Australia.
Mike Jones is a writer, script-editor & story producer having worked in script development with companies including the ABC, WarnerBros, EveryCloud, Jungle, & Princess Pictures; has lead long-form script labs for YouTube, and is story consultant to ABC Signature studios in the US.
He was story producer for ABC youth-drama series 'Deadlock' for EveryCloud productions, and has served as script producer for ABCTV on comic-drama series including 'F*cking Adelaide', 'Other People's Problems', 'Wrong Kind of Black', and 'Edge of the Bush'.
Mike was co-creator of the virtual-reality detective-thriller ‘VRNoir: A Day Before the Night’ with StartVR and short-listed for the International ProtoAward for most Innovative VR 2016. He is also co-writer of forthcoming speculative-fiction VR thriller, ‘Awake'. Mike previously lead story development for multi-platform company, Portal, developed cross-platform projects for WarnerBros, and served as a development consultant to ScreenAustralia. As a novelist Mike is author of “The Transgressions Cycle”, a three-book series of supernatural gothic novels published by Simon&Schuster, named on Apple iBooks'Best Of' list and twice nominated for the Australian Shadows award for best Horror novel of the year.
Mike began his collaboration with Sweet Potato Films serving as story consultant on the celebrated supernatural mystery drama, 'The Kettering Incident'. And he now works with showrunner, Vicki Madden, to develop the SPF slate of compelling international drama and feature film projects.
