SPF is lead by Vicki Madden, one of Australia’s most accomplished television creatives with over 25 years experience as a writer, script producer and showrunner. Her wide ranging career has spanned internationally steering high-level television drama not only in Australia but also the UK and Ireland including ‘The Bill’, ‘Lynda LaPlante’s Trial and Retribution’, and celebrated Irish drama ‘The Clinic’. In Australia her credits include much loved and successful series such as ‘Water Rats’, ‘Blood Brothers’ and ‘Halifax FP’.
From an early career honing her craft on seminal long-running dramas including ‘The Flying Doctors’ and ‘G.P.’, Vick has emerged as a driving force of high-end television in Australia as both Showrunner and Producer.
Her acclaimed supernatural drama series, ‘The Kettering Incident’, premiered on Foxtel in 2016 and went on to be the highest rating Australian cable TV drama. It was also lauded by critics and received the Grand Jury prize as Series mania, Paris.
Under the SweetPotatoFilms banner Vicki has gathered a suite of creative collaborators to forge a new brand of screen storytelling that is bold, ambitious and always beyond the ordinary. SPF is currently in development of a slate of new TV, digital and feature productions with companies and creatives in the UK, US and in Australia.
Mike Jones is a writer, script producer, and story editor whose projects have received numerous AWG, SPA, & ADG awards & nominations.
Mike has script produced a range of productions for the ABC including comic-drama series; 'F*cking Adelaide', 'Other People's Problems', 'Wrong Kind of Black', and 'Edge of the Bush’, and was script-editor on the ADG award-winning comedy series, ‘Small Town Hackers’ for US network Above Average.
A well regarded story developer, Mike has worked with companies including the ABC and WarnerBros, has lead long-form script development labs for YouTube, and story consultant to ABC Signature studios in the US. Mike previously served as a development executive to ScreenAustralia & lectured in story & writing at the Australian Film TV & Radio School, where he currently sits on the AFTRS ReFrame industry advisory group.
Mike began his collaboration with Sweet Potato Films serving as story consultant on the celebrated supernatural mystery drama, 'The Kettering Incident'. And he now works with showrunner, Vicki Madden, to develop the SPF slate of compelling international drama projects.
